DSE & MONOPOLET

Do you ever wonder how far technology should go, or where we, as engineers, should draw the line?

At DSE & Monopolet, we explore how global developments in technology, security, and ethics are redefining the role of engineers in society. This year’s discussion focuses on digitalisation, cybersecurity, and AI, three forces transforming the world faster than ever.

We’re now inviting DTU students to share their own dilemmas and experiences related to technology, ethics, and responsibility. Your submission will form the foundation for our live debate, where three industry experts from KODEX – the Danish union for IT professionals focused on digital rights and ethics, TDC Erhverv – a leading provider of digital infrastructure and cybersecurity solutions, and one of the winners of the Danish Championship in AI, will discuss selected dilemmas on stage.

Maybe you’ve wondered…

💭 How do we build secure systems without compromising privacy?

💭 Can AI ever make ethical decisions on behalf of humans?

💭 What responsibility do engineers have when the technologies they create can be misused?

No dilemma is too big or too small; it just needs to spark reflection. Whether it’s something you’ve encountered in a course, a student job, or simply in your thoughts about the future, we’d love to hear from you.

🗓 Event date: October 30, 2025

📍 Location: DTU Library

🕛 Time: 12:15–12:45 (lunch break)

Submit your dilemma below and help shape the conversation about what it truly means to be an engineer in a digital age. 🌍💡
