Fair Assistant

Fair Assistants, or MAs for short, are DSE's right-hand helpers at the DSE Fair. As an MA, you’ll gain hands-on experience in organizing a job and career fair. You’ll also become part of an amazing team made up of students from all corners and departments of DTU, giving you a great opportunity to expand your network across different study programs and semesters.

As an MA, you’ll assist DSE’s representatives at the fair by handling practical tasks. In return, you’ll be invited to the fair dinner with all participating companies, receive a gift from DSE, be invited to the closing party on Thursday, and get an invite to the MA Afterparty, a celebration for all the Fair Assistants who helped out during the event.

Application deadline: TBA

Why should you become a Fair Assistant?

BOOST YOUR CV
As a volunteer at the DSE Fair, you can gain skills in everything from logistics to customer service. We’re all volunteers, and it takes a massive effort to get Denmark's largest job and career fair for engineers up and running, and to keep it going smoothly.

FOOD AND DRINKS
When you're a volunteer at the fair, we make sure you're well taken care of. There will be plenty of food, drinks, and snacks—being a volunteer at the DSE Fair should be fun!

FAIR DINNER, PARTIES, AND OTHER EVENTS
You'll be spending quite a bit of time at the fair, and since it's during a regular teaching week, you're of course invited to our fair dinner on Wednesday after the event. We also usually invite our volunteers to two parties after the fair, with all expenses covered.

 FAQ

  • It’s really up to you! However, we usually have a minimum requirement in order to participate in our events and to be eligible for a potential gift. This requirement is typically at least one fair day and one to two setup days, but it can vary from year to year.

Because of this, and since we only need a certain number of Fair Assistants, the amount of time you’re able to commit will play an important role in the selection process.

  • Our volunteers at the fair cover a wide range of tasks—everything from refilling coffee, providing service at the information booth, managing the storage area, to truck spotting.

There are many more tasks beyond those mentioned above, and we always try to ensure that people don’t end up serving coffee non-stop for six hours.

  • It happens, and you can never predict potential illness or emergencies. Please send an email as soon as possible using the address from which you received the invitation to the Kick-Off meeting.

  • Unfortunately, we have a huge puzzle to piece together, so it’s generally not possible to get shifts with your friends. However, you'll have the chance to meet many new people!
